Margaret M. Burns, 88, of Bradford, PA

Margaret M. Burns, 88, of Bradford, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born on April 29, 1924, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Merle Colburn and Florence (Palmer) Double Colburn.

On September 27,1947 at St. Bernard Church she married Jack K. Burns, who passed away January 22, 1992.

She was a 1942 graduate of St. Bernard High School and attended Villa Maria College in Erie.

Mrs. Burns was a homemaker. She was a sorority sister with Alpha Sigma Gamma, a member of the Catholic Women's Club and the JC Wives. She and her late husband enjoyed spending time at the Farm in Willow Creek with family and friends. She enjoyed music and sang with several local bands during the 40's. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and the Buffalo Bills, also playing Bridge and saying her daily Rosary.

Margaret is survived by a daughter, Margie Girard, of Bradford; seven sons Dan (Jamie) Burns, of New Britain; David Burns, of Orchard Park, NY; Mickey (Jan) Burns, of Bradford; Tim Burns, of Bradford; Mark (Minnie) Burns, of Duke Center. Pete (Danielle) Burns, of Story WY; Mat (Jen) Burns, of Beaver Falls; twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.She also leaves behind a beloved friend, Joan Byrne, who lives in East Port, NY. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband one brother Leonard "Jim" Double, two sisters, Martha Colburn and Maxine Double Lytle

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at St. Bernard Church, at 11:00am on Saturday, October 27th, with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
