Minor Injuries In Rt. 46 Rollover Crash Near Emporium On Wednesday

Two downstaters and a Delaware woman suffered minor injuries Wednesday when the 2006 Chevrolet Mailbu they were traveling in hit an embankment and rolled several times on Route 46 in Shippen Township, Cameron County.

Arthur L. Heisey, 67, of Jonestown, PA, the driver, and his passengers, Lynn A. Heisey, 57, of Jonestown and Anita J. Schools, 55, of Lewes, DE, were all transported to Elk County Regional Meidcal Center by Emporium Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. Troopers said all three were wearing lap & shoulder belts.

Trooper Michael Meko said the crash too place as Heisey was driving southbound on Rt. 46, 623 feet south of North Creek Road, when Heisey fell asleep and his vehicle drifted off the roadway and onto the shoulder, up an embankment where it subsequently rolled over multiple times, coming to rest in a drainage ditch, 405 feet from the initial point of the crash.

Emporium Fire Department responded to the crash which was dispatched as having entrapment. State Police cited Heisey with Careless Driving.
