In the last 7 days, Nate has had what could, at first, appear to be two major setbacks. Early last Saturday morning, he suffered a seizure which earned him a bed in ICU for the remainder of the weekend. He was quickly stabilized and seemed to return to his “new normal.” Earlier this week they sent him back to his room on the 6th floor, so his mailing address remains the same. Yesterday, (Thursday) he had surgery on his L shoulder. It was dislocated in the accident, and although they popped it back in, it came out again, and nobody caught it. An issue we choose not to belabor at this writing. Unfortunately, the body does what it must when issues are ignored. Due to that oversight, doctors say the shoulder will probably continue to pop out, and when Nate gets back into Life, he will be a candidate for shoulder replacement surgery. But even that is a priority for down the road. His therapy is now quite limited for the next two weeks until the shoulder heals enough to allow it.

However, that being said, we have faith in a Great God, who is More Than Able to overcome the failures of man. We have faith in a Great God who, in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to interrupt Nate’s ongoing therapy with first the seizure, and now the surgery. There is a reason, one that we are not aware, but He is aware, and He is all over this. We don’t just believe, we know that what seems like two major “setbacks” are not setbacks at all. And I ask those who do pray for Nate, that instead of praying, you PRAISE God for what He is doing to accelerate Nate’s recovery. Great things are yet to be seen! Amen.

Please remember to stop in at the Benefit Yard Sale and Bake Sale going on at the Two Mile Inn, Rte. 155N (just outside of town toward Olean) Port Allegany, all day Saturday, Oct. 13, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. We will all be wearing our “Toolbox” T-shirts! The shirts were created by Nate’s Air Force buddies at Ft. Moody, Valdosta, GA at their own expense and sold on the Fundraiser website: for $10 each, all proceeds of which went to help Beth and her family stay the course. A few extra t-shirts may still be available.

Our entire family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued prayers and support.

God bless you,

Ann DeHaven
