2 Drivers Injured In Morning Crash On Rt. 120

Two drivers were injured in a two vehicle crash on snow covered Route 120, about a mile east of the Elk/Cameron County line Thursday morning at 8:10 AM.

Angela Regulski of St. Mary's, PA, suffered severe injuries according to police.

Ali Reigel of Emporium, PA, was reported to have moderate injuries.

Both drivers were transported to Elk Regional Medical Center by ambulances from Emporium and St. Marys for treatment of their injuries.

Trooper Paul Mall, who investigated, said the two vehicle crash occurred as Reigel was westbound in a 2005 Jeep Liberty and Regulski was eastbound in a Chevrolet Traverse. Reigel lost control of her vehicle on the snowy road, spun counterclockwise encroaching into the westbound lane, impacting Regulski's Chevrolet at the one o'clock position.  After impact, the Jeep spun clockwise and impacted the guide rail along the westbound berm where it came to rest.  After impact, the Chevrolet spun clockwise, impacting and encroaching on top of the guide rail along the eastbound berm, coming to rest on top of the eastbound guide rail.

Regulski was entrapped inside the Chevrolet and had to be extricated by mechanical means. Reigel was able to exit her vehicle. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Both airbags deployed. The vehicles received severe frontal damage.

PSP Emporium was assisted on scene by Emporium Fire Dept., Ambulance, St. Mary's Ambulance and PennDOT. Both vehicles were removed by Ramsey's Garage of Emporium, PA.

It's my understanding that Ali wasn't "able to exit her vehicle".. she was pulled out, unconsious, when it caught on fire.
