District Attorney, Coroner, Up For Election This Year

Important Dates Announced For 2013 Election

votingCandidates in the May 21 Municipal Election can begin circulating nominating petitions for signatures on Feb. 19. They have until March 12 to file them. Many township and borough positions will be filled this year, as will seats on every school board in the region. Successful candidates in the May 21 Republican and Democratic primaries will have their names appear on the Municipal Election ballot.

Countywide offices up for election this year are District Attorney and Coroner, both four-year terms. Every borough and township in Potter County is electing a tax collector, judge of election and inspectors of election

Mayor offices and Borough Council seats are being filled this year in Coudersport, Austin, Galeton, Ulysses, Shinglehouse and Oswayo. Township supervisor positions are up for election across the county. Many municipalities are also electing auditors and assessors. 

School director seats are open this year in the Coudersport, Austin, Galeton, Northern Potter, Oswayo Valley, Port Allegany and Keystone school districts.

Deadline to register to vote, change party affiliation or report change of address is Apr. 22.

So very true! That go's for the Austin boro council too but sadly everyone has given up! The ones that have been serving for the past 10 years or so do it for their own agenda which in turn has been very bad for the town and school.

I think its about time to make some changes in Galetons Borough Council.I think its time to see what really does go on there.I get tired of seeing my water rates going up and school taxes going up,but yet i see more and more employees being hired.Enough is enough.
