Julia M. "Judy" Speedy, 76, formerly of 5820 Church St., Limestone, NY

Julia M. "Judy" Speedy, 76, formerly of 5820 Church St., Limestone, passed away Thursday, January 31st, surrounded by her loving family, at the Wake Medical Center in Raleigh NC.

Born December 1, 1936 in Knapps Creek, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Nora (Clark) Hatch. She was a 1954 graduate of Limestone High School.

On June 23, 1956 she married Donald "Fred" Speedy, who died on May 11, 1998.

Mrs. Speedy worked at Corning Glass for over 30 years. She was an active member of the Limestone High School Booster Club and the Alumni Association for several years..

Surviving are two daughters, Becky (Scott) Porter, of Fuquay Varina NC, and Bonnie (John) Speedy-Mastroianni, of Clayton NC, one son, Donald "Donnie" (Theresa) Speedy, of Snow Hill NC, one sister, Marge (James) Brocious, of Phoenix AZ, and one brother, Frank Hatch, of Limestone, five grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. at 11:00am funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Robert Beard, pastor of the Limestone United Methodist Church officiating. Committal services and burial will be in Limestone Cemetery.
