Arlene M. Sturgess, age 63, entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 14, 2013. She passed away peacefully at her home in Gloversville with her family by her side.

Arlene was born January 1, 1950, in Port Allegany, Pa., the daughter of the late Hank and Nina (Campbell) Reinke.

On January 3, 1966, Arlene was united in marriage with Anthony Sturgess in California. They shared 44 years together in marriage until his passing on November 27, 2008.

Arlene enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and was a gifted home decorator. She also loved visiting the mall to go shopping.

She was employed as an instructor at the Lexington Center for over 29 years, retiring in 2009.

Survivors include: two sons, Anthony Sturgess Jr. (Beth) and Kevin Sturgess (Allie); one daughter, Lori (Sturgess) Mansell (Craig); eleven grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Libbie, Kaylie, Alina, Abigail, Malia, Rhiannon, Kevin, Andrew, and Harrison. She is also survived by one brother, Steve Reinke.

Memorial visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A private family memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
