Both Winners and Participants in PFBC
Sweepstakes Agree that “Fishing’s Fun in PA”
HARRISBURG, Pa. (March 28) - The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s (PFBC) “Fishing’s Fun Sweepstakes” continues to be a great way for everyone to have a chance at winning fishing trips with expert anglers across the state and fish for all types of fish species. In addition, Cabela’s $500 gift cards offer another exciting chance at winning in the sweepstakes. The sweepstakes is open to the public with no purchase necessary to enter.  Weekly drawings will be conducted through May 5.
Among the trip prizes are two fishing trips on Lake Erie, individually provided by Lake Erie Ultimate Angler and Dr. Bob Ferraro (Cabo Express Charters) with generous support of dinners and hotel stays provided by Bel-Aire Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, Victor’s Restaurant and Scott Enterprises.
Central Pennsylvania trout fishing and southeastern Pennsylvania bass fishing trips have been provided by TCO Fly Shop with accommodations provided by Riffles & Runs Bed and Breakfast. Selected winners have their choice of a bass or trout fishing trip with accommodations provided by Wilderness Voyageurs, and a western Pennsylvania bass or trout fishing trip provided by International Angler. Like float fishing? A float fishing trip on the Delaware River with overnight room and dinner for two is also being offered through West Branch Angler.
“These statewide trip prizes not only highlight the great fishing opportunities our Commonwealth waters offer, they also show how our agency can partner with anglers who have graciously donated guided trips to showcase our fisheries across the state,” said PFBC Executive Director John Arway.
In addition to these fishing trips, Cabela’s has made a very generous donation to the total sweepstakes prize package with $5,000 worth of gift cards.
“Cabela’s has been a long-time partner with the Commission in a number of programs and promotions, and we are very grateful for their generous participation in our sweepstakes,” added Arway.
Each $500 gift card can be redeemed both through Cabela’s online store and by visiting any one of their retail stores, such as the one in Hamburg, PA, or Wheeling, WV.
Sweepstakes fishing trip prize winners to date have included:
David Klein, Freedom, Pa.
John Burton, Glenshaw, Pa.
Wade Black, Aspers, Pa.
Ronald James, Mount Carmel, Pa.
Dennis Michalak, Erie Pa.
John Scitticatt, Greenville, Pa.
Sweepstakes $500 Cabela’s gift card prize winners have included:
Joseph Nagele, Kunklestown, Pa.
Chris Viers, Canadensis, Pa.
James Spade, Richfield, Pa.
Matt McKruit, Worthington, Pa.
Jennifer Smilnak, Duncansville, Pa.
Christopher Conville, Coaldale, Pa.
The sweepstakes continues each week with the final drawing of a $500 Cabela’s gift card on May 5. The “Fishing’s Fun Sweepstakes” is just a part of the Fish and Boat Commission’s promotional launch of its new 3-year and 5-year fishing licenses. These new multi-year fishing licenses are available for all types and permits usually provided for one-year licenses. In addition, the PFBC has “sweetened the deal” by providing purchase rewards for customers who purchase multi-year licenses. Multi-year license purchasers must visit the website printed on their license to redeem these valuable rewards.  With a license that’s good for three or five years, anglers can now enjoy carefree and convenient fishing without the worries of purchasing an annual license.
