Minor Injuries In Rt. 6 Crash At Fishing Creek Intersection

Two women suffered minor injuries in a two car crash in Roulette Township at the intersection of Fishing Creek Road and Route 6 at 8:15 am on Friday.

Kathleen M. Morey, 50, of Roulette, PA, suffered a minor injury but did not require transport to a hospital. She was driving a 2006 Pontiac Bonneville.

Deidra J. Oswalt, 30, of Sheffield, PA, was transported by ambulance to Charles Cole Hospital for treatment of a minor injury. She was driving a 1997 Lincoln Continental.

Wanda Blankenship, 51, of Warren, PA, a passenger in the Lincoln, was not injured.

All three women were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.

Trooper Mark VanVolkenburg said the crash occurred as Morey was traveling north on Fishing Creek Extension, completed a stop at the stop sign, and then attempted to make a left hand turn onto Rt. 6.

She failed to ensure it was safe to enter route 6, resulting in a collision with Oswalt's Lincoln that was traveling eastbound on Rt. 6. Both vehicles came to rest across both lanes of Route 6.

Morey was cited for a Stop & Yield violation.

Roulette Fire Dept. and Ambulance responded and called for  assistance from Coudersport Fire Dept. and Ambulance.
