Evelyn M. Toothman, 86, of 3792 Barse Track Road, Knapp Creek, NY

Evelyn M. Toothman, 86, of 3792 Barse Track Road, Knapp Creek, NY, passed away, Thursday, May 16, 2013 at her residence.

Born May 7, 1927 in Franklin, she a daughter of the late Clyde E. and Ruth E. (Kockler) Hughes, Sr.

On January 21, 1946, while he was on leave from the Army she married Frank E. Toothman who survives.

Mrs. Toothman was a 1945 graduate of Olean High School. She had worked at AVX Ceramics in Olean, retiring after 24 years of service.

She belonged to Coops Troops Square Dance group, in Duke Center, and the Red Hat Society. She attended the Christian Women Club in Bradford and played bingo during her retirement. She was known as grandma Toot in the neighborhood and enjoyed making pies, cookies and candy.

Along with her family and friends she enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and traveling. She and her husband spent their summers at Chautauqua Lake or at Big Gill Lake in Canada.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 67 years are two sons, Terry (Joe Villone) Toothman, of Dalmatian, PA, and Daniel (Carol) Toothman, of Bradford, two granddaughters, Amy Frances Severtson of Little Genesee and Kristie Lynn Toothman of Marrietta GA, four great grandchildren, Colby Harvard Hitchcock, Autumn Severtson, Dakota Severtson, Harley Daniel Lewis, three sisters, Jean Kitchen, of Chicago, IL, Mary Ellen Barton, of Olean, and Lois Jane Foster, of Bolivar, NY, a brother, Ralph (Sandi) Hughes, of Olean and several nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephew Marge and Ed Obermiller. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, and infant David Alan Toothman and Okey Lynn Toothman in 1978, an infant grandson Okey Guy Toothman, a sister, Nina Croft and a brother, Clyde Hughes.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 1:00 to 2:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main St., where funeral and committal services will be held at 2:00pm with Rev. Paul Cauvel, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
