Ohio Swimming Pool Contractor Jailed In Diamond Ring Theft In Liberty Township

A Warren, Ohio swimming pool contractor spent a week in the McKean County Jail in connection with charges filed by State Police in 2012 after a $7, 000. diamond wedding ring was stolen from a Port Allegany area residence while work was being done to install a Kayak Pool.

Jerry Jerome Miller, 28, of  Warren, Ohio, was arrested on a warrant charging (F3) Theft By Unlaw Taking-Movable Prop and (F3) Receiving Stolen Property.

Miller was arraigned May 22, 2013 before District Judge Dominic A. Cerone, Jr. who committed Miller to the McKean County Jail when he could not post $100,000. cash bail. Miller subsequently was released on May 29, 2013 on a $100,000. bond.

A 14 karat two-tone diamond wedding ring with a total of 3 karats of diamonds was stolen along with two $100.00 bills from the bathroom of a Liberty Township residence on September 14, 2012 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm according to State Police at Kane who investigated.

Trooper Dale T. Vukovich, Jr., said the items were stolen from the bathroom at the residence of Janice and Herman (Curly) Rennells at 18 Baxter Road in Liberty Township, McKean County, by known male suspects. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $7,100.00. 

The ring was subsequently turned over to Ohio State Police and the Rennells had to travel to Ohio to reclaim their property.

Miller is scheduled to return to McKean County on July 1 for a Preliminary Hearing on the charges.

Nope there is no difference between distance and honesty. Difference is you don't have to travel far to get your stuff back.

I don't think this has anything with buying local, because trust me, there are plenty of contractors around Port Allegany that will steal you blind...
