This isn't a criticism of anyone volunteering or donating in any way, shape or form it is simply an sincere question. Why, especially in the summer and at night when folks have their windows open and are trying to sleep do the sirens have to blow, sometimes 4-5 times a night. Couldn't they just rely on paigers say from 9PM to 6AM from Memorial Day to Labor Day? Just asking

Well I agree that it can be disturbing at times. But the truth is all Volunteer depts. both Fire and EMS all across the country are having issues with getting people to volunteer their time to help the community. Its this reason that the siren blows more than once, (mostly late at night) because the same few people are running all the calls for our town. With more help, this would not be the case, but I see your concern. - Travis Green

I used to live in back of a fire hall& when the siren would go off more than once I would just pray, believe me it would wake me up, it sure is a chilling sound to hear, knowing someone needs help so I would just pray for them
