Update for PennDOT’s Route 220/Auction Road Project, Week of June 24

Update for PennDOT’s Route 220/Auction Road Project, Week of June 24

Lock Haven – Work continues on Phase One of the Route 220/Auction Road project in Lamar Township next week. When work on Phase One and Phase Two are complete, area drivers will enjoy smoother, more efficient travel through this area and have increased sight distance at the four-way intersection.

Activity the week of June 24 will include installation of ditches, preparation for the installation of pipe, and clearing of trees.

This work may impact traffic and drivers should be alert for temporary flaggers in the roadway. Short travel delays are possible. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving vehicles throughout the entire work zone.

Construction of Phase One includes the building of the ramps on the eastern side of Route 220, adjacent to Central Pennsylvania Auto Auction. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is the contractor on the $3.4 million Phase One project.

Phase Two of the project will build the bridge and ramps on the western side of Route 220, adjacent to the Clinton County Fairgrounds. Phase Two is expected to begin in 2014.

PennDOT reminds motorists to buckle up, obey posted speed limits and proceed with caution through all work zones.
