11th Annual Senior Citizens Expo Coming Soon!

The 11th Annual Senior Citizens Expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Sports and Fitness Building gymnasium.

The event features dozens of vendors that offer helpful information for senior citizens and their caregivers, such as health care, insurance, nutrition and exercise, fire safety, financial planning, fraud protection, government services, hunting/fishing, personal safety and more. This is a great opportunity to gather a wealth of helpful information all in one place. In addition, health screenings will be offered and lunch will be served.

For more information, contact my Bradford office at (814) 362-4400. A second expo is being planned in Roulette on Friday, Oct. 11. Looking forward to seeing you at one or both of these great events!
Fair Season is Upon Us

Summer is in full swing, and our local county fairs are just a couple weeks away! Fairs offer an array of fun, affordable family activities while also showcasing our state’s top industry: agriculture.

Be sure to mark your calendars and make plans to come out to at least one, if not all, of our local fairs in the 67th Legislative District:
 • Potter County Fair, July 28-Aug. 3.
 • Cameron County Fair, Aug. 2-10
 • McKean County Fair, Aug. 10-17.

Website Aids Jobseekers

The latest edition of a free website that connects employers with potential employees in Pennsylvania is now available.

The JobGateway website allows potential employees to post their resumes and find job recommendations tailored to their specific skill sets, allowing employers to search through the resumes to easily find qualified candidates.

More than 300,000 job seekers visited the site in the past month, and more than 2.5 million job applications have been posted on the site since it went live last year. The website sees an average of around 200,000 job openings at any given time and around 3,500 new jobs are posted each day.
