Detour to be Lifted this Afternoon for Bridge Repair in Potter County

Potter County
Detour to be Lifted this Afternoon for Bridge Repair in Potter County

Austin –Work to repair a structurally deficient bridge on Route 3003 (First Fork Road) in Potter County will wrap up by 3 p.m. today. At that time, the bridge will be opened to traffic, and a detour in place since May will be lifted.

Crews from PennDOT Potter County Maintenance performed the work, which was not slated to be finished until next week. The project repaired the bridge, providing a smoother, safer ride for area travelers. The bridge spans Big Moores Run on Route 3003, in Sylvania Township, about five miles east of the village of Costello.

The bridge was built in 1984, is 34 feet long and carries an average of more than 50 vehicles per day.

Drivers are reminded to follow official detour signs, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
