Update for Work at the Intersection of Routes 119 and 322 in Sandy Township, Week of July 15

Update for Work at the Intersection of Routes 119 and 322 in Sandy Township, Week of July 15

DuBois – Work to improve the Route 119/322 “Blinker Parkway” intersection in Sandy Township is continuing, with an update noted below. When work completes late this year, area drivers will be able to travel through a wider intersection with improved visibility and enhanced safety.

For the week of July 15, area drivers can expect:

• Contractor will shift the travel lanes onto the newly paved areas;
• Contractor will complete paving of widened areas;
• Contractor will begin excavation and drainage work for the next phase of construction.

Drivers can expect travel delays as the travel lane change occurs. Traffic will controlled by flaggers at the Route 322/119 intersection.

PennDOT reminds drivers to be cautious, watch for slow moving and stopped vehicles through the work zone, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.

Overall work will include construction of turning lanes, roadway widening, slight roadway re-alignment, drainage improvements, new curbing and sidewalk, curb ramps, and traffic signal upgrades

All work is weather and schedule dependent. Work is scheduled to end by early December of this year. H.R. I. Inc of State College is the contractor on this $1.3 million project.
