Roulette Chemical Engine #1 100th Year Celebration This Weekend


ROULETTE FIRE DEPARTMENT
100th Year Celebration Agenda
July 12, 13, 14, 2013

Friday Evening:
• 6 pm opening with an open house of the fire department.
• We will be doing a BVR (Basic Vehicle Rescue) demonstration.
• We will have the ambulance open and do blood pressure.
• We will demonstrate only, the basic concept of CPR.
• We will show people on backboards as if they were being transported.
• We will have all trucks open for people to look at and some demonstration as to what they do.
• Smokey Bear will be here.
• Police Officer may be there to do finger prints, they are going to try to make it but emergencies will come first.
• Social hall will be set with memorabilia and a slide show
• Table set up to sell T-shirts, coffee mugs, travel mugs, coozies, and various items pertaining to emergency    responding.
• Demonstration of how to properly use a fire extinguisher.
• Yogi the Clown will be here.

Saturday
• Line up for the parade starts at 8 a.m. with judging going on until the parade starts at 10 a.m. there will also be a couple of floats, West End Trailblazers and a float for the past and present Chief’s.
• Combat Challenge will start at 11:30 a.m., age groups are 18 – 30, 31 – 45, and 46 & over.
• Junior Combat Challenge will be held for 14 & 15 and 16 & 17 year olds open to the public, with a trophy given for first place in both age groups.
• Water Battles will start at 12:30 p.m.
• Quarter Bingo will be going on all day in the meeting room of the social hall.
• Dunk Tank will be set up with Chief Frank Kaziska and Officer Phelps.
• Bounce house from Burleson’s True Value will be here Saturday and Sunday.
• Games will be set up mostly for younger children at good old day prices, Saturday and Sunday.
• Lee Lee the Clown will be there throughout the day.
• At 6 p.m. there will be a moment of silence for the victims of Domestic Violence and all fallen fire fighters.
• Fireworks are scheduled to start at 10 p.m. 
to be displayed in the field behind the Baptist Church on Main Street (donations for the fireworks would be greatly appreciated).
• Various tables will be set up for local vendors Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday
• Open the hall at 10 a.m.
• Pony rides will be available to children from 10 a.m. till noon (still working on this)
• Car show will start at 1 pm (weather permitting)
• Games for children to compete are being planned with a reward for participating and a reward for winning.
• Quarter Bingo will be going on in the social hall.

Food and refreshments will be served Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Menu consists of hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries. Saturday we will serve up pulled pork sandwiches with macaroni salad.
• Sunday we will add to the hot dogs, hamburgers, and french fries with pizza from Foxes, in Port Allegany.
• Drabee’s will be here with their Italian Ice.
• Ice Cream Truck will be here all weekend at various times.
• Cotton Candy machine will be here from Burleson’s True Value.
• Various tables will be set up for local vendors

ON SUNDAY MAIN STREET FROM SCHOOL STREET TO RIVER STREET WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL THRU TRAFFIC FOR THE CAR SHOW.

Officer/Chief Phelps is sitting on the dunk tank at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, July 13. Please plan to come and take your best shot. Lets see how many times we can dunk him.
