William H. Hopwood, Jr.
William H. Hopwood, Jr., 77, of 234 Sunrise Acres Rd., Emporium, PA formerly of Philadelphia died at his residence, Emporium on Friday night. (July 26, 2013)

He was born September 10, 1935 in Philadelphia a son of the late William H. and Frances Hopwood, Sr.

On October 4, 1958 in Philadelphia he married Norma Waters Hopwood, who Survives.
Mr. Hopwood served with the US Navy for four years during the Korean War. He worked for the City of Philadelphia Police Department, as a homicide detective for many years before moving to Emporium in 1975. Bill retired from Pennsylvania Pressed Metals where he worked for several years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Emporium Council #990, Fraternal Order of Police, National Rifle Association and the Gun Owners of America.

There will be No Visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Barnett Funeral Home 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium on Monday (July 29, 2013) at 11:00 AM with Father Matt Ryan, Rector, of Emmanuel Episcopal Church officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium,
