Coudersport Rotary Club Receives Borough Appreciation Fundraiser Auction Planned

Marlin (“Mud”) Moore, Coudersport Borough Manager, presented a $750.00 check to the Coudersport Rotary Club earlier this week to help defray the cost incurred by the Club during its purchase and installation of a new metal roof over the pavilion located at Mitchell Park; one of the Borough-owned community parks. Rotary Club members and community volunteers donated their time and labor at no cost, limiting the cost of the new roof installation to materials only in the amount of $2,200.00.

“Clearly the Club’s investment of time and money will benefit Mitchell Park for years to come because of the longevity of metal roofs, which should save the Borough money in the long run,” according to Moore. “Our contribution to the Rotary Club demonstrates the Borough’s desire to continue working cooperatively with the Club on future Borough-owned park maintenance and enhancement projects because it ultimately benefits our residents and results in cost saving for the Borough,” added Moore.

The Club anticipates raising enough money at its Annual Dinner Auction Fundraiser to be able to establish its 2014 community project and to continue its sponsorship and administration of the several youth leadership programs and scholarships slated for next year.

The auction will be held on Saturday, September 14th at the Coudersport American Legion with a social and live music commencing at 5:00 pm followed by dinner and the live auction of various items including a gun cabinet donated by Morgan AM & T. Those interested in the event should call Karen at (814) 203-3933.
