It is a 25 MPH zone with a busy crosswalk right there. How fast were they going?

That was about the time the Theater was getting out? Should have been driving slower yet, you would think??Prayers to who ever was hurt & to the responders, also!!!

I heard a man had a seizure that caused the accident.

Prayers for all involved. I do have to say though. It doesn't say much for our hospitals that if it's more than a Band-Aid needed, a ten thousand dollar chopper ride is needed. No wonder we are going to get fined for not having insurance.

Any information on who it was yet.?

Praying for the victims and responders. Unfortunately, in our small rural area, treatment for serious trauma must be found elsewhere. I am by no means 'well off', but would gladly sell everything and remortgage my house to pay for a chopper if it meant getting me or my loved ones to a facility that was better-equipped to treat them/me.

I pray to the sweet Lord to bless all involved. As for the fifth comment, you really shouldn't post things if you don't understand how it works. The medics at the accident (first responders) call for the helicopter, not the hospital.

Sugar coating your snarks with prayers to your God does not make them any less heinous.

Hey 11:19, how much do you think it would cost this area to have the equipment and staff needed to handle critical trauma patients?!? Especially when there is a need only once or twice a week at most? And what sort of trained trauma physician do think would like to spend the majority of their time sitting around wasting their skills talking to uneducated residents of the area like you?!?

Prayers to all involved in all incidents the past few days. I wish people were more educated about why the helicopter may be called. If someone is having a heart attack, the responders are trained to watch for signs and they know to call the helicopter. It saves time. Say a person is having a stroke. There is a time window in which a patient can receive a special medication and it is given at a high level of care facility. It is much faster to call the helicopter to the scene rather than drive to the hospital, assess them, and then call the helicopter. If a person is having a seizure it could also be a sign of a heart attack. I was not there and probably most of you weren't either. Cole Memorial is a lower level of care but I sure am glad they are in the area. They have saved a lot of lives. I am sure our responders would love to have more trained people to help them on the calls they go to, take some classes. You would learn how it all works! If not then don't criticize our hospital or our responders.

Couples bitch and complain - get a divorce.

Co-workers bitch and complain - one leaves the job.

Friends bitch and complain - no longer friends.

Public complains about EMT's, ambulance workers, fire department, and the hospital - you want them to quit or not show up at a time of need?

To 7:17 and 11:52 as a first responder, I THANK YOU! we are very rarely appreciated, and mostly criticized.

As for I. I was sent out on chopper ride for strep. Hmm was it worth the 18000 ride they gave me? Considering that when i got to other hosp i had to stay 12 hours because ccmh gave me meds i am allergic to. After I told them and asked and told them when they was putting in my iv.

You can deny any sort of treatment......be glad for what you have in this area. People have been injured and all you can do is complain about yourself. How selfish. Would you want people complaining on a post involving you or your injured family? I'm wishing this family the best. And the rest of the families and employees who have be affected by the many traumatic accidents that have been happening lately.

To the person that is complaining about the chopper ride: Be thankful that the EMT's know what to look for in emergency situations. CCMH is not equipped to handle some emergency situations and before you bad mouth them for that stop and think of the cost. A small community like this could not keep a facility like UPMC running. Just because they send people out don't think less of them. Look at the positive side, they care enough to get you to the place that can give you the treatment that is needed. You need to study up on things before you run your mouth.

People can sit back and easily complain about the firefighters and ems and stuff like that. They try and do their best for every situation they are in. If they dont like the calls and decisions they make then those people need to go out and be in one of those situations and see if they can do better. No one is 100% perfect and everyone makes mistakes so sit back and shut up.
