A State Police trooper from DuBois was shot and critically wounded
Thursday afternoon and a phalanx of law enforcement officers were in a
standoff with the shooter late into the night.
The shooting happened
around 2 p.m. when troopers from DuBois and the Vice Unit from
Punxsutawney and the Jefferson County Drug Task force tried to serve a
warrant at a home on Cemetery Road in Brockway.
Deputy State Police
Commissioner Lt. Col. George Bivens said the site had been “contained”
but the situation had not been resolved and officials expected the drama
to continue overnight and into Friday. More details in Friday's
Courier-Express.
