Ralph W. Hoffman, 86, of Warren, PA, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys, PA.

Born on January 25, 1927 in Warren, Pa he was the son of the late Charles and Nellie Gosden Hoffman. 

Ralph attended Warren Schools and enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1944 where he served in the Pacific until his discharge in 1946. He was an apprenticed brick layer stone mason, working in construction for 20 years and was mason foreman at Warren State Hospital from 1968 until his retirement in 1985. 

Ralph was a past member of Cornplanter Gun Club and an active member of the Sugar Grove American Legion Post 758. 

He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman and spent many summers fishing in Canada.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Eggleston Hoffman, six children, Rodd (Pat) Hoffman of Warren, PA, Linda Hoffman and her spouse, Cindy Coleman, of Candler, NC, David (Annette) Vogt of Cotopaxi, CO, Mary Beth(Gordon) Coltharp of Manassas, VA, Jane Pedrick of Annapolis, MD, and Sean (Pam) Hoffman of Reading, PA, six grandsons, Jon, Steven, Chad, Duncan, Luke and Nate, six granddaughters, Alicia, Tina, Jessica, Brynn, Rachel and Mary Grace, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister, Frances (Ed) Darling of Youngsville, PA., and one brother, Raymond Hoffman of Chandlers Valley, PA and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Ralph was predeceased by an infant son, two sisters, Margaret Carlson and Vera Taft, and three brothers, George, Donald and Albert Hoffman.

Friends will be received at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. when a memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Cindy Coleman. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Weiler Cemetery, Warren, PA. 

Those wishing to place a memorial in Ralph’s memory may do so through Hospice of Warren County or the Warren Cancer Center, both located at 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA 16365, or to the Friends of the Rouse, 701 Rouse Avenue, Youngsville, PA 16371.
