This happened in Galeton Pa, and the victim was the Galeton Area School PTO another words she stole from children. Not sure why they left that part out.

at 10:19. She stole the money from the PTO. Takes someone real special to steal from kids.

The Galeton Parent Teacher Organization was the victim. The parents of Galeton students should be outraged because the children's money was stolen! How did she receive access to the PTO bank accounts? Should she have had access? This is what I want to know...How did this happen!?

Maybe Galeton School should be a little wiser to whom we have running the organizations....I feel sorry for the children and the school!

It is reality today! it will get worse with people stealing not just from kids, elderly, but anyone they can steal from, WE lock everything up, this woman was probably dealing with cash monies, maybe from fundraisers! "just sayin"

It was terrible what she did but I can tell you she paid the Galeton PTO back in full, and now she is paying for what she did.
It's hard to trust anyone nowadays and why is it when something bad happens so many are so quick to run at the mouth, I was angry too, what caused her to do it we will never know. All we can do is pray for her and be thankful that she did pay it back so the PTO and the students can move on and do good with the money like it is intended for!
And just saying, I don't see a line of people waiting to volunteer and commit time to the PTO! I am thankful for the PTO and all that they do for our kids!

The people currently on the PTO have done a lot of good things. I also think some should take responsibility for their actions that lead to this even happening. Glad she paid it back. I hope the PTO does a better job of monitoring the money going forward. I hope the justice system acts appropriately as this is not her first theft charge.

This is a terrible ordeal. Trust is a big issue in todays society, and as mentioned above, will continue to get worse. The crime was committed, the money was returned in full, and she is and will continue to pay for her actions. As for it not being a first offense: maybe she has a problem. Maybe shes psychotic or has mental disabilities, and maybe the previous sentencing wasn't the right kind of sentencing to keep her from doing something like this again. And as mentioned above, why are we so quick to run at the mouth at the bad things people do in life. If we as society were as quick to talk about the good things people do, maybe it would be an encouragement to help those with criminal tendencies. Maybe the ones bad mouthing others should step up and contribute to their PTO and other organizations, maybe that will help keep things like this from happening

Maybe the ones that are commenting do contribute to their PTO but no one knows that since we are all posting "Anonymously". Either way yes she did commit a crime, one that she only paid back once caught, this could have been prevented and wasn't. I agree with the comment that said "some should take responsibility for their actions that lead to this even happening", no this was not her first offense not even close so why was she even in charge of money. I also think that more people should step up and help in their town functions PTO, borough, school boards and so on. I appreciate absolutely everything the PTO in our town does and I have also been involved as much as I can be. That does not change the fact that this happened, and hopefully this will be handled properly and it will not happen again.

This is an awful occurrence that yes possibly could have been prevented. Appropriate action from the justice system? What about all the drug dealers continuing to "help" overdose our children? What appropriate punishment are they getting? This woman is a veteran of our United States! Did anyone stop to think that maybe some PTSD might be involved? Its to my understanding that to meet this woman on the street you would not consider her a risk: that she has been an active member of her community for the past several years. I'm not giving her an excuse, just wondering: does she need help and has anyone seen that she gets the help she needs; maybe THAT will keep this from happening again??? And your right, we are all anonymous, so we don't know who does and who doesn't get involved.

When did drugs become part of this post/conversation, and when did I say that "Appropriate action from the justice system" would be given. I refuse to argue about drug dealers overdosing our young. I said "hopefully this will be handled properly", apparently the PTO took the proper steps now lets just hope that continues. Maybe this woman does have issues that cannot be seen, I know no one knows your a thief by looking at you, it has to happen for that to be known at least as far as I know. This NOT being her first offense maybe helping her would be ooh I don't know NOT putting her in positions of such things like treasury, "just saying".
