Selmer W. Redcay, 86, of Coudersport, PA

Selmer W. Redcay, 86, of Coudersport, PA, formerly of Denver, PA passed away Thursday, October 23, 2013 at Cole Memorial Hospital.

He was born on August 6, 1927, in Lancaster County, son of John and Emma Weitzel Redcay. On November 4, 1972 he married his wife Grace Martin Redcay.

Selmer attended the Free Methodist Church in Coudersport, PA. He enjoyed splitting firewood, hunting, fishing and playing his favorite board game, Chase the Rat.

Selmer is survived by his wife Grace, sons, Dale Redcay of Denver, PA and Mark Redcay and his wife Diane of Coudersport, PA, granddaughter, Meredith of Coudersport, and his sister Edith Foreman of Stevens, PA. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Carrie, brother, Ivan Redcay, sisters, Vera Lucas, Verna Musser, Elsie Leid and Beaulah Simpson.

Selmer’s life celebration will begin Sunday, October 27, 2013, at the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home with a visitation from 6-8pm. 

His funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Roseboro-Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St. Denver PA, 17517 at 10:00am, the Rev. Peter Trembley officiating. Burial will follow at the Yocum Cemetery, Grills, PA.

Arrangements are being held by the Thomas E. Fickinger F.H. Ltd., 210 N. E. St., Coudersport, PA “A Life Celebration Home”.

I have always admired these folks. Rain and shine splitting firewood on North Hollow. RIP Selmer.
