LARRY’S SPORT CENTER, Galeton, PA – Announces 20th Anniversary of POTTER COUNTY BIG GAME CONTEST


LARRY’S SPORT CENTER, Galeton, PA – Announces its 20th Anniversary of the POTTER COUNTY BIG GAME CONTEST…a FREE contest where hunters can win a 4X4 Yamaha 350 Grizzly. The contest is open to all archery and rifle hunters in PA and NY. Anyone under 18 years of age must enter their Buck or Bear in a parents name to be eligible to win. Pre-registration is recommended but not required. Deer or Bear must be brought into Larry’s Sport Center to verify points and weight of bear (weigh station ticket). Bucks entered in contest will be given one chance to win for each point on the rack. The bear entries will receive one chance for each 25 pounds in weight. The winner will be drawn on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 3:00PM, entries will be accepted up until the time of the drawing. (Winner does not need to be present to win).

Grand prize is a 2013 Yamaha 350 4X4 Grizzly ATV, Second prize will be a free head mount donated by Endless Mountains Taxidermy of Galeton, PA. The POTTER COUNTY BIG GAME CONTEST offers one of the BIGGEST prizes in the East and it’s FREE to enter.

The winner of the 2013 Big Game Contest was Earl Wells of Glenmoore, PA. Earl shot his 8 point “lucky buck” from his son-in-laws tree house. (Complete with heat, stairs and balcony-where Earl was sunning himself when he spotted the prize winning deer.) Earl and his father purchased the local hunting camp in 1983 and he was hunting with a group of friends last year, (most of them were headed home when Earl got “lucky”) Earl was pretty sure they wished they’d stuck around a little longer…
