Mildred L. Sherman, 82, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly Galeton, PA

Mildred L. Sherman, 82, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly Galeton, PA, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at The Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. 

Born December 14, 1930 in Warwick, RI, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Ella (Gardnier) Allen. On January 17, 1947, in Warwick, RI, she married the late Lewis E. Sherman, Jr., who predeceased her in 1986. 

Mildred was a nurse who retired from the Kent County Hospital in RI. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Galeton, and greatly enjoyed gardening and playing card games. 

Surviving are a son, John (Randi) Sherman, Warwick; two daughters, Linda Sherman, Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Susan (Joseph) Lewis, Wellsboro; a sister, Alice Barber Warwick; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a niece and a nephew. 

Friends may call on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 10:00-11:00am, at the First Baptist Church of Galeton with a Memorial Service following at 11:00am. The Rev. Richard Tintle will officiate.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors. 

Services have been entrusted to the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton,
