The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau launches newly designed website

The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau has just launched a newly designed website to promote the numerous attractions in the area. As a response to visitor feedback and various industry professionals the website has adopted a new look and integrated new interactive trip planning technology.

The new Trip Planner feature is a cutting edge development in the travel industry. The feature gives travelers the ability to create a complete itinerary of destinations, events and places of interest to help plan their visit. A map feature, powered by Google, was just added as well. Each destination has a map with the location pinpointed on it for visitors to get a better sense of where everything is located in the region.

According to PAGO director Dave Morris, in addition to the new appearance and features the website has improved navigation and organization to help guide visitors through the variety of attractions and businesses in the region. “We know visitors to our site want simplicity and the ability to easily navigate for information. The new site accomplished that goal and much more. VisitPAGO.com is packed with essential contact and description information on camping, canoeing, elk viewing and many other activities that make this part of Pennsylvania so popular.”

The site features details on over 250 lodge and cabin rentals, country inns, bed and breakfasts and campgrounds. There are also many outfitters, unique shopping destinations and more.

The large 5-county region in north central Pennsylvania consists of Cameron, Clarion, Elk, Forest and Jefferson and is home to two nationally designated Wild & Scenic rivers, the largest free roaming elk herd in the eastern United States and the great weather prognosticator Punxsutawney Phil.
