Turkey Trek Saturday November 23rd at Sinnemahoning State Park

Get ahead of the calorie count for the holidays by burning the equivalent of at least  one piece of pie on this 3.5 mile jaunt.  The pace will be brisk, with a few slight hills.  Fun will be had by all. Turkey sightings are not guaranteed, but who knows where they might be lurking!

The Turkey Trek tomorrow at Sinnemahoning State Park is a 3.5 mile hike at a brisk pace over mostly-easy terrain.  Most of the route is rails-to-trail with gravel surface.  Part of the route is uneven surface through pine forest.  A small portion is paved road.  Although we will travel at a brisk pace, we will stay together as a group and are limited to the speed of the slowest person.  The hike is interpretive – we will stop along the trail to discuss wild turkeys and share interesting facts about these amazing birds.

The program is free and open to all ages.  Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.  (At this time, the forecasters are not being kind to us, but I hope that will change.) The program will be cancelled only in the case of dangerous weather.

The hike begins at 1:00 p.m. and will finish by 2:30 p.m.  Please meet at the south pavilion in the 40 Maples Day Use Area.
