Company Expanding Cellphone Coverage In Potter County

Company Expanding Cellphone Coverage In Potter County

verizonwirelesscelltowerVerizon Wireless is moving forward on its plan to erect a series of towers in Potter County, expanding its cellphone coverage.

Four more tower sites were approved at this month’s Potter County Planning Commission meeting. The one-acre lots are in Roulette Township, Germania (Abbott Township), Sunderlinville (Hector Township), and a parcel that’s split between Ulysses and Pike townships.

Verizon officials continue to assess how many towers are needed and where they should be placed for maximum coverage. Despite the challenging terrain, they believe as much as 90 percent of Potter County will have cellphone coverage when the project is completed.

Sites have already approved in Harrison, Allegany Township and Bingham townships. Each site will be a 200’ x 200’ plot upon which a lattice tower will be built, as well as a small pre-cast concrete equipment shed. Each of the sites is being leased from private landowners.

I live in Austin with no booster! I still get one bar at my kitchen window and can make calls or text.

Portage Road could use a tower. Service is needed there.

at 2:28:00 PM; You want to live in nature, move to Yellowstone Park. In the mean time, shut up and move back to Philly. We would like to have some resemblance of civilization here.

We live in Portage Township, outside of Austin and have no service here. What happened to the tower plans for here?
