Medical Office Program to Begin in Coudersport

Medical Office Program to Begin in Coudersport
Are you interested in a career in the rapidly-growing field of health care? The Potter County Education Council, Cole Memorial, and Pennsylvania College of Technology have collaborated to provide a medical administrative office training program at Coudersport starting this fall.

This adult-learning program will focus on training students with a well-rounded background in medical office practices, including medical terminology, computer applications, reception and scheduling, billing and coding, medical law and ethics, medical records, office management, and medical insurance. The program will be offered Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Students will complete an externship with Charles Cole Medical Offices in the Potter County area to prepare for future employment in physicians’ offices, clinics, billing companies, or other ambulatory care facilities.

This is a non-credit training program and students will earn a certificate upon completion. National certification as an Administrative Medical Office Assistant may be earned. The cost of the program is $6950 per person. Financial aid may be available as this program is state approved for WIA funding. If you are interested, visit CareerLink to see if you are eligible.

Classes are scheduled to begin on January 13, 2014. For an information packet, stop in at the Coudersport office of the Potter County Education Council, located at 5 Water Street, or contact Janine Morley at (814) 274-4877.
