Winter Storm Warning issued December 14 at 12: 05PM EST until December 15 at 4:00AM EST by NWS


...A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST SUNDAY...

* LOCATIONS...ALL OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW. SOME FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED NEAR THE
MARYLAND BORDER AND INTO THE LOWER AND MIDDLE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY
LATER THIS EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW IN MOST LOCATIONS...WITH
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN
MOUNTAINS. A THIN COATING OF ICE IS POSSIBLE LATE IN THE FAR
SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST...WHERE SNOWFALL TOTALS WILL BE A FEW INCHES
LESS DUE TO A MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN THIS
EVENING.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVIER THIS AFTERNOON. THE SNOWFALL
INTENSITY WILL INCREASE TO WHERE THE SNOWFALL RATE COULD BE UP
TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR AT TIMES LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY
TONIGHT. THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE IN THE PROCESS OF CHANGING TO
FREEZING RAIN ALONG THE MARYLAND BORDER AND IN THE SUSQUEHANNA
RIVER VALLEY AS THE PRECIPITATION BECOMES LIGHTER AND MORE
INTERMITTENT EARLY TONIGHT. ELSEWHERE...THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF
TO PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW OR SNOW SHOWERS BY MIDNIGHT.
