Eldred Dispatched To MVA On Indian Creek

Eldred Dispatched To MVA On Indian Creek
At 10:13 PM--Eldred has been dispatched to the Indian Creek Road at the border with NY state for a motor vehicle accident. Olean 10 is on scene. It is on the no winter maintenance area. Believe to be an ambulance involved in the accident. Unknown any details.
10:17 PM--SECOND AMBULANCE REQUESTED AND THEN RECALLED
ROADWAY CONDITIONS SLIPPERY ON HILL.

Very confusing and broken radio conversations from the scene suggest that an Emergycare Ambulance went over an embankment and was unable to access the patient they were responding to. There were no injuries in the crash on the North Branch. Olean Medic 10 was on scene. After the patient was accessed, at about 11:40 PM, Olean Town Fire Dept. was requested to set up a landing zone near the American Legion on Route 16 to fly a possible stroke patient.  At last check the helicopter company was checking weather to see if they could respond.

UPDATE:
Emergycare was transporting from Hamot to residence. GPS lead them the wrong way. Members from Town of Olean responded with a bulldozer to remove ambulance to safety with crew and pt safe onboard. Once at the intersection of McDuffy Rd and Rt 16, the pt was transported by ground to OGH. All units clear and available by 12.44am

GPS systems are a love hate relationship. When they take you the right way, great, but there are times that they take you in the most stupid way that ends up as this ambulance did. Very unfortunate.
