Indications of potential flooding are present which may affect the Sunset Bay area. Residents are encouraged to prepare to evacuate in the event that flooding does occur.Three blasts of siren will indicate the need to evacuate.

 Flood Warning issued February 21 at 1:16PM EST until February 21 at 4:15PM EST by NWS Buffalo

The National Weather Service In Buffalo Has Issued A * Flood Warning For... Extreme Northeastern Chautauqua County In Western New York... Extreme Southwestern Erie County In Western New York... * Until 415 PM EST * At 108 PM EST...County Officials Reported Flooding At Sunset Bay Near The Mouth Of Cattaraugus Creek. Recent Rainfall And Melting Snow Is Also Contributing To The Rising Water Levels. A Flood Warning Means That Flooding Is Imminent Or Has Been Reported. Stream Rises Will Be Slow And Flash Flooding Is Not Expected. However...All Interested Parties Should Take Necessary Precautions Immediately.
