William “Bill” Linn, 73, Coudersport, PA

William “Bill” Linn was surrounded by his children the morning of February 27th as he went to meet his maker and Lord, at Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport, PA.

An Army veteran and retired Pennsylvania State Trooper, Bill was known by many throughout the area through his service to the community. The life of service he lived was a source of great pride for him.

Born in Erie, PA in 1940 to Earl and Doris, Bill grew up in the Clarion, PA area. He graduated from Clarion-Limestone High School in 1959, then joined the US Army, where he served in various posts, including Germany, until 1963. He married his high school sweetheart, Janice Newhouse. He joined the PA State Police, and together they moved to Coudersport in 1967.

They had four children, Teresa, Billy, Eric and Michael, all of whom survive him.

Following a divorce, he lived out his life in Coudersport, passing his days mowing the lawn at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, and spending time with Teresa, her husband Jeff and his grandchildren Marissa, Jessamy, Jay, Jaymes, and Leah.

He is also survived by his older brother Kenneth and sister Janet Bush, grandchildren Ethan, 12; Audrey and Sophia, 11; of Aspen, CO (Billy and Natasha); Morgan, 16; and Christopher, 13; of Pittsburgh, PA(Eric and Jennifer); and Oscar, 2; of Charlotte, VT (Michael and Christin); and great-grandchildren Isabelle Hildebrand (Marissa and Patrick); Philip, Marianna, Konnor and Avrie Geiser (Jessamy and Tom Geiser).

Bill lived a full life. He walked in the joy of the Lord, and his savior Jesus Christ, with whom he continues on today.

Bill’s life celebration will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2014, with visitation from 6 to 7pm, and a memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Coudersport, PA with, Pastor Joe Lazurek officiating.
