Fatal Crash On Rt. 446 at State Line

Fatal Crash On Rt. 446 at State Line

At about 6:30 Thursday morning, Eldred Fire Rescue and Ambulance were dispatched to an accident near the NY/PA state line on Rt. 446. Subsequent information indicated this was at least one fatality in the crash.

Shortly after 8:00 AM, Eldred Ambulance called for Olean 10 ALS for a small child that was discovered in a snowbank at the crash scene. The child was transported to Olean General Hospital. Olean police handled traffic control at intersections to expedite the ambulance thru Olean. It is unknown if there are other victims.

The roadway has been intermittently closed from the time of the crash by Fire Police from Eldred and Portville and PennDOT. Although there has been no information passed on regarding the closure, we believe it may still be closed.

No official news releases have been issued in this incident, but many have been asking what we know. Please keep those affected by this tragedy in your prayers.
