There will be a membership meeting of the Friends of Lyman Run on Sunday, March 30 at 4:00 pm.

The meeting will be held at the park maintenance building past the upper end of the lake. We will be discussing the Kid's Fishing Derby which will be held on May 17th this year as well as upcoming summer programs and projects for the park.

All members are encouraged to attend and anyone interested in becoming a member of this volunteer group are invited as well.

Light refreshments will be served.

If they are looking to generate income and have more people at the park, they should consider lowering those camping fees, besides the fact they do not give much of a break to seniors!

I appreciate your comments but they should be directed to either the Secretary of DCNR,or the Governor, as they are the ones who set fee policy. I hope that you are also aware that we are one of the very few states who do not charge an entrance or parking fee so the pavilion, camping and cabin fees are about it. The Friends of Lyman Run are a part of the PA Parks and Forests Foundation, not DCNR. It is an avenue for volunteers to participate in what is going on in their parks and forests, to have a voice, and to be a part of conserving the beautiful natural resources we have in our state. There is a place on line where you can voice your comments on the DCNR website and I encourage you to do so.
Have you ever though about becoming a campground host? You get to camp for free then and help your park out at the same time...if interested, contact the park you are interested in.
