Harriet C. Winseck, 89, Roulette, PA

Harriet C. Winseck, 89, Roulette, PA, went to be with her Lord and many loved ones, Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport, PA.

She was born February 2, 1925, in Hobart, NY. She was the daughter of Percy and Florence Brockway Weeks. On October 5, 1946 she married Carroll M. “Zip” Winseck, Sr., who preceded her in death February 17, 1998.

Harriet was a tax collector for Clara Township for 44 years. She was a member of the Fishing Creek United Methodist Church. Harriet loved playing card games, doing puzzles, gardening and doing things for others. She was active in the Ladie’s Aid Society at the church. She also enjoyed the personal relationships that developed as she collected the taxes of Clara Township.

Surviving are her daughters, Eileen (Charles) Waltz of Pharr, TX, and Catherine (Paul) Snyder of Coudersport, PA., her daughter in-law, Rovetta J. Winseck of Roulette, PA, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, her sister Hazel Freeley of Long Island, NY, close friends Dennis Zink of Clara Township, PA and Jessica Wiley of Roulette, PA.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Carroll M. “Dude” Winseck, Jr., a brother, and three sisters.

Friends and family are invited to Harriet’s Life Celebration, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 2pm at the Fishing Creek Methodist Church, Roulette, PA. 

Memorials may be made to the Hebron Center Christian School, 1149 SR 44 North, Coudersport, PA 16915 or the Fishing Creek United Methodist Church, Fishing Creek Rd, Roulette, PA 16746.

I always enjoyed visiting with Harriet when she was a resident of Cole Manor. She was a very special lady. If there are jig saw puzzles in heaven, I'm sure she's working on one at this very moment! God rest her soul.
