Mt. Jewett Responding To Rollover Crash On Main Street

Mt. Jewett Responding To Rollover Crash
At 6:44 PM on Thursday, Mount Jewett Fire & Ambulance & Medic 5 dispatched to a rollover crash near 148 Main Street in Mt. Jewett.

A State Trooper en route to a domestic incident in Port Allegany rolled this police cruiser on West Main Street in Mt. Jewett late Thursday afternoon. No word yet on injuries to the trooper, but Kane paramedics were dispatched to the scene to assist Mt. Jewett Ambulance. Prayers for the trooper involved here.

Port Allegany and Smethport Police responded to the domestic incident on Roper Road in Port Allegany and took a person into custody at that scene.

Where's Spring?

I don't feel sorry for the trooper. How many people has he harassed for driving too fast for conditions????? This pig needs to get a big citation. The cops around the Mt. Jewett area, are...way too OUT OF CONTROLL!!! They are a threat to the people!!!! all they do is drive around harassing people, and Collecting taxation without representation!!!! Yes I know they say that they are only doing their job...right???? This is also what the Nazis said, at the Nuremberg trials.

DONT FORGET TO GIVE HIM A TICKET FOR UNSAFE SPEED FOR CONDITIONS

Anonymous said...

driving to fast on slippery road way.I hope the trooper is ok.

Anonymous said...

Did he give himself a ticket for driving too fast for the conditions?

Anonymous said...

All of you barking about him driving to fast for conditions, remember this comment if you ever have an emergency and the police decide to take their dear old time getting there. You complain about how they do their jobs yet I don't see any if you lining up to do it for them!!!! ...... Amanda

Well said Amanda....

Anonymous said...

The roads weren't bad they were bare and like Amanda said wait til u have an emergency. .I know they roads were bare cuz I went through there shortly after it happened like my husband said. Ppl are ganging up on him cuz he is a state police. .Ppl rend to forget they are humans to ....

Anonymous said...

Amanda remember this when for some Un-Godly reason you have an accident and get cited for Unsafe Speed for conditions, and your Insurance premium also raises. You will be complaining too when that money comes out of your pockets, and also handed over to someone like this Officer. As far as I knew Port Allegany gots its own Police Officers, & Smethport also responded to the dispute. Why does this State Trooper need to risk lives of others to come clear to Port? It is exactly what he did was "RISK THE LIVES OF THE PUBLIC", he could have killed someone on his pursuit. If his vehicle was that damaged, and rolled over everyone knows the Speed Limit was not being used.

Agreed post at 9:01

amanda, I would have to take a cut in pay to do their job. The trooper put everyones lives at riskdriving to fast for conditions, didnt make it to the call didi he?

Anonymous said...

I guess sometimes speed gets the... best of us. It's right there in black & white. Hope the officer is ok

Anonymous said...

But they are going to kill someone or perhaps a family driving that fast through a town where people have to pull out of their driveways. What if someone where it happened was pulling out of their driveway and they came up over the hill going that fast. They would never have time to stop. This has been a complaint from people that live right in that area for a while now.

Anonymous said...

Port cops weren't on duty at that time. the trooper is only 23 years old

First of all, most of you are condemning the officer because he was driving to fast. Maybe he was driving fast but he was going to a domestic incident and a lot or most of domestice violence ends in the death of someone, even the police and yes they always have extra backup for this kind of situation. So until you know the whole situation, do not condemn the officer and do not call him a pig. That is just disrespectful and when you call them that, that tells me you have had plenty of run-ins with the law. So you do not like the cops because you get caught all the time so you bad mouth them. You know 9:01 poster, I would love to see your arrest record because I would imagine it is a mile long. Also one more thing, the cops have lights and sirens on their cars and most people do not know that means to get out of the way and that goes for firetrucks also, they have lights and sirens and it means to get out of the way that there is an emergency. Maybe he could have slowed down a little going through town but I or probably you do not know the circumstances of the domestic dispute, someone might have been killing children and the other officers needed help right away we do not know. The officer was doing his job, protecting and serving. Thoughts and prayers for the officer that he or she is ok.

Anonymous said...

They have been driving like that for years. They can't be any help to anyone if they can't safely get there themselves. For as long as I remember they would fly up the road. Just because you have defensive driving don't mean you can endanger others! Start using your heads and slow down...

Hope the officer is alright the roads may have appeared Bare but there were a couple slick spots cause I was going through there and hit a couple patches of black ice. So people need to back down and quit talking smack about him driving fast.

Unknown said...

any one take in the factors of the roads being bad, it snowing and winds that were 20mph yesterday alls i'm saying is that the wind yesterday was pushing my truck around yesterday then snow don't help along with patches of black ice cause i hit a couple small patches of it going through mt jewett hope the officer is alright!

Anonymous said...

AGAIN ROADS WERE NO BAD I was in the same area a couple minutes after it happened I was going to Kane and if the roads were bad I would not have went cuz tires on my car suck on bad roads ....but maybe he hit black ice .......but u know what gets me. All these ppl drink and drive and then drive being high ...no one says nothing about them those are the ones that need to get down graded..just cuz this happened to be a state police everyone is criticism him...

Anonymous said...

This wasn't an incident for just two town cops from word around there was a gun threat involved, so the life of one of the people was in danger and anyone else near because who knew what this person would have done. Youre the first to point fingers and get mad because he was "going too fast" but think if this was someone in your family, neighborhood, etc. being threatened with a gun and all the cops decided to take their sweet time to get there as to not "drive too fast" in the public eye.

Anonymous said...

I agree they use their authority to do what they want and it is wrong. Port does have a cop so why were the state police called? These are younger cops I do believe and they let this go to their head.

Anonymous said...

You people need to stop complaining about the officer it is a accident it could happen to any one of us.

Anonymous said...

He is human like the rest of us and made a mistake. We should be praying he is ok and not judging him. I personally have family that are cops and while it is true they are to obey the laws like us they sometimes go a little fast to get to emergencies to help people. It would be the same of an ambulance trying to get to the scene. They are not to speed either but sometimes u think it is ok to get there in time to save someone's life. I think all of u bashing the guy for doing his job and have. Mishap should stop and pray he is ok.

Guilty before innocent, just like the driver in this incident does for the citizens.

If person's comments above are sincere, I would suggest they contact the local PSP Station and voice their concern, complaints and comments. Complaints to blogs are of no use, if you truly have concerns, let those complaints be heard by the person or persons who can make appropriate changes to address the problem. I suspect those posting comments are all law abiding citizens with no infractions of the law to their credit. Please remember, even Troopers are human, and thus, human errors occur though officers of the law should be held to a higher degree of scrutiny. Give it up just because he wears a uniform. Should your concern be for a human being that may be seriously injured???

People don't know the entire story. First off Port police were working and requested help from Smethport which responded. The State Police also responded to assist. What you haven't read in the story was that this is a Domestic incident and there was a gun involved. So you wonder why the police were in such a hurry to get there. Once the scene was secure and then the troops was advised to slow down on their response. Unless you were there or were the actors, victims or police then we all have really no reason to comment. Accidents do happen. Luckily the trooper was not critically injured. I don't know how everyone continually comments about our protectors. Seem they never do right. State Police are highering.

Anonymous said...

I so agree .If these ppl complaining about how state police does their job go be one ...they are here to protect us ....but u break the law ur gonna get caught ....I'm glad the psp is unharmed I was worried and praying for him or her .....and to all the psp and town cops thank u for protecting us .....

Anonymous said...

Must have not been to important of a situation because his lights weren't on that's just an accuse so the officer doesn't get in trouble deserve him well he was young so it went to his head that he's an authority figure which isn't a good example of one if anyone else would have been in an accident that would be cited for it so he should be too ecspecially since his lights weren't on

Anonymous said...

FYI people, Roper Road is out of the Port Allegany police jurisdiction which is why PSP was called.

Anonymous said...

I beg to differ, Roper Road is in Port Borough. I pulled the map to be sure that I am posting the right thing. Glad your not the cop. You don't even know where your going.

Anonymous said...

Bet all you wealfare receiving name callers would not have so much to say if he was responding to you getting your throat cut.
So much hate for our protectors can't be good for society.

Anonymous said...

I'm not a fan of cops because a lot of them do think they are above the law, however maybe know the facts before you start criticizing someone for doing his job. Being there myself, the only thing the trooper did wrong is maybe tried to respond to his call a little faster then he should have, and it being a domestic violence call I don't blame him. Even in our little area we've all seen how those can go wrong. I was filling my car up when the cop went through Lantz Corners (Lights & Sirens on) and headed to Port myself, I was at the accident a few minutes after it happened. The roads were bare except for patch of black ice on the top of the hill where the accident happened. I wouldn't have noticed the black ice myself if didn't stop on it and have issues getting my car going again (with studded tires). Anyone of our vehicles could be the same place the troopers is in this picture. Think before you speak.

The sheer ignorance in some of these posts (and I'm talking about the thought processes way more than the grammar and spelling) scares me to death! I'm more worried about living in the same neighborhood as one or more of the authors of these bizarre posts than I am the possibility of getting hit by a Trooper speeding to a crime scene to try to SAVE SOMEONE'S LIFE!!!! Prayers to the Trooper involved.

Anonymous said...

State police make mistakes too they are human like you and I.....come on people

Anonymous said...

What an Ass. Port called for back up, you should shut up when you don't have any idea what your talking about!

Anonymous said...

No sympathy from me this guy was triple digits when he lost control coming into a 35 mph zone where children play. Landed in a driveway children frequently ride their bikes. After he hit a pole 5' above the ground. How many lives need endangered for an emergency.

Anonymous said...

I believe this officer was very irresponsible and endangered the citizens of the area. It is not OK to use excessive speed when responding to a call. Its just not necessary due to the risks being taken. Responding to a call to save lives is one thing.... using common sense to get there safely is another topic. Prayers to the trooper and hoping he slows down next time (he's lucky there will be a next time).

Anonymous said...

Yes we are all human, we all make mistakes, but I have personally seen PSP and the local police "responding" some with and some without lights and sirens through this same 35mhp zone at a excessive rate of speed. Had someone been pulling out of their driveway in the same area this happened the end result could have been much worse. My thoughts and prayers are with the PSP Trooper involved but hope he or she has learned something from this. Perhaps he or she can some day share this experience in a driving/safety class in hopes to prevent this kind of accident from happening again.

WOW!!!!!!! I feel dumber just reading some of these comments!!! For my part, I hope the officer is alright. I wouldn't want their job. They put it on the line every second of every day. Give the guy some slack. For petes sake people grow up!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Omg give this cop slack. If it was ur family in danger cuz of a gun knife whatever u would want them there fast to. And yes he did have his lights on .....He is human .........I know if it was my family I would want the law there fast....Ppl are so immature anymore ....If this was a regular car and not a psp this argument wouldn't be happening

Anonymous said...

I for one seriously doubt the officer was in "triple digits" going through there. Quite sure he never would have survived had he in fact been going that fast. I myself have hit black ice at not that high of a rate of speed that sent my car shooting off to where it shouldn't be. Thank God there were no children or other people in the way where this accident happened and it is unfortunate that this accident happened, but people, there was a gun involved at a home where young children reside. I guess the lives of those children weren't as important. I know if I was in a situation like that, I would want a police officer there as fast as possible.

they were on their way to a situation where there is limited time in a case like that.. i think its terrible this happened but they had a job to do.. like we all do..
