To Benefit Fire Victim Norma Cobb Nichols

cookbookcoverOrders are now being taken for the Taste of Potter County Cookbook, a fundraiser to benefit Norma Cobb Nichols, whose home was severely damaged by a Christmas Eve fire. The cookbook is a project of the Potter County Employees Community Service Committee and it’s far more than a collection of recipes. Committee members have produced a booklet that emphasizes local food traditions, local agriculture, local history and local attractions to complement an eclectic collection of yummy and time-tested recipes.
Norma (right) has been active in community affairs for several decades. A partial list of her volunteer work includes Christmas House, Order of Eastern Star, Post 192 American Legion Auxiliary, Allegewi Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Potter County Democratic Committee and others. When the Potter County Employees Community Service Committee learned of fundraisers to help Norma by the Coudersport Rotary Club and American Legion Post 192 Auxiliary, members decided to support the cause by producing a limited-edition, collectors’ item. Copies will be available for sale at the spaghetti dinner and tribute social on Saturday, March 22, from 4-11 at American Legion Post 192 in Coudersport. Cost is $7.00 per book. For cookbook ordering information, call 814-274-0517.
