Gannon classes available locally at reduced rates

Gannon classes available locally at reduced rates
Through an innovative partnership with Gannon University and the Education Consortium of the Upper Allegheny (ECUA), the Potter County Education Council (PCEC) is offering residents of Potter and McKean Counties access to two reduced tuition associated degree programs.

Full time students can complete their degrees in as little as two years and can choose from an Associate of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies or an Associate of Science in Business Administration. If you are not interested in an associate degree at this time, you can choose the course or courses you need for personal or professional development, or take courses to transfer towards a degree program at another regional college or university.

Courses available for the Summer Semester at the Coudersport office of PCEC, as well as 7 additional locations, include: Fundamentals of Speech, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Philosophy, Environment Issues, Labor and Employment Management, Compensation Management, Philosophy of Ethical Responsibility, and Financial Accounting.

This program is perfect for adults interested in earning a college degree, residents who feel college is too expensive to be an option, individuals who want a second chance at college, and high school students who want to earn college credits at a reduced rate. It’s an affordable, convenient way to earn an associate degree or take general education courses close to home. Tuition for this program is heavily reduced, approximately the same cost as out of county tuition for most PA Community Colleges, with additional tuition discounts available for eligible high school students interested in dual enrollment.

The registration deadline is May 5, 2014 and classes start May 12th. For more information or to register, contact Janine Morley at (814) 274-4877 or janine@pottercountyedcouncil.org or Jocelyn Hamilton.Bash at (814) 603-1229 or jhamilton.bash@ecuapa.org.
