I-180 Work-Zone Traffic Impacts for April 28 - May 3

I-180 Work-Zone Traffic Impacts for April 28 - May 3

Weather permitting; the contractor working on Interstate 180 in Northumberland and Lycoming counties will have daylight work-zone traffic patterns in place next week, April 28 - May 3.

Lane restrictions (using traffic cones) will be in effect in both directions from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday from just east of Exit 5 (Turbotville) to just west of Exit 10 (Muncy – Main Street).

The traffic patterns will be changing within the daytime hours to accommodate the varying work activities.

The contractor will be hauling rock into the median area to stockpile, installing erosion and sedimentation control measures, removing tree stumps, placing poles for electrical services and illuminating lights. The contractor will also be building and paving temporary ramps and crossovers in the median areas. Meanwhile, a subcontractor will continue repairs to the substructure of the bridge carrying the interstate over Hughes Road and Route 54. Another subcontractor will begin placing long-term signing on the westbound and eastbound lanes.

Motorists are advised to stay alert to the changing work-zone traffic patterns between exits 5 and 10 on I-180 next week.
