PennDOT to Post Weight Restrictions on Route 46 Bridge in McKean County

PennDOT to Post Weight Restrictions on Route 46 Bridge in McKean County

Bradford – Effective at noon Monday, April 7, PennDOT will post weight limits on a Route 46 bridge in McKean County. The bridge spans Pigeon Hollow Run in Norwich Township, near the McKean County-Cameron County line. As of noon Monday, the bridge will be posted for 32 tons for single vehicles and 39 tons for combination vehicles. The bridge was built in 1931, is 17 feet long, and carries an average of over 1,060 vehicles daily, 36 percent of which is truck traffic.

In August of 2013, PennDOT Secretary Barry J. Schoch authorized the transportation department to add or increase weight restrictions to about 1,000 structurally deficient bridges statewide. Reducing the weight traveling on these bridges will slow their deterioration and preserve safety until repairs or replacement can occur.

Its the local economy that hurts you moron! The local logging companies, the grocery stores, the gas stations, the local factories! The only reason for posting this nonsense on these roads is trying to make someone else pay for this deteriorating country so our tax dollars keep going to pay big government to do NOTHING! You liberal douches need to get a life! What do u heat with? What do u drive on? Wonder why milk is so expensive? That truck can't travel 46, it has to go to lantz corners through johnsonburg to st marys to get to emporium! You people are tools! This government is effecting everyone. So keep running ur suck hole and wonder why everything is so expensive!
