Trashin' For Fashion '14 Raised over $1400 for breast cancer research

Trashin' For Fashion '14 Raised over $1400 for Breast Cancer Research

Kim Nelson "Karizma" was the DJ and Master of Ceremonies for the show March 29th at the Veterans Memorial in Port Allegany. Each model took the runway to a song chosen by the designer/model team. The designers and models who participated in the event were Jess Barr, Janie Weeks/Brooke Boller, Beth Sigafoes/Zoe Kio, Ann Tanner/Allie Kio, Mandy Andreano, Chris Weimer/Melissa Smoker, and Shirley Winans/Kylie Dipilato.

All outfits were to be made of at least 75% recycled material. The designers used potato chip bags, pop/beer tabs, milk jugs, curtains, birdseed bags, wine corks and more.
The winner of the show was Mandy Andreano, whose outfit raised the most votes in the form of dollar donations to Susan G Komen.

The second annual Trashin' for Fashion will be held in the spring of 2015. Creating these outfits can be a time consuming process. Anyone interested in entering an outfit in 2015 can be on an early contact list by contacting Carla Drabert at New You Salon 814-544-8054.

This is great! Which one is the winner, Mandy Andreano? Is she in one of these pictures? Everyone says how things are so hanus these days but seeing something like this tells a different story! :>)

The judging was actually done by everyone in the crowd. You put $ in for the one you wanted to vote for, the one with the most $ wins and money raised, that simple!

Mandy is the one shown with the white too and green and yellow bottom and hat!

It was a fun event, hopefully next year more people show up to support an amazing cause!

GREAT JOB CARLA!!

I wish you could put the names with these pictures. I sort of know some of the faces or maybe their parents or grandparents.
