Update on Completion of Route 220/Auction Road Job

Update on Completion of Route 220/Auction Road Job

Lock Haven –Final work on Phase One of the Route 220/Auction Road project in Lamar Township is scheduled to finish in the next week. Crews began final work on April 2 and expect to be done by April 11. Final work includes paving, line painting, and placement of shoulder back-up.

Next week, the contractor will be performing miscellaneous grading work. This work will require single lane closures on Route 220 and Route 2008 (Auction Road), with flaggers in the roadway to control traffic.

Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving vehicles throughout the entire work zone. All work is weather dependent.

Once Phase One and Phase Two are complete, area drivers will enjoy smoother, more efficient travel through this area and have increased sight distance at the four-way intersection. Phase Two of this project is expected to begin later this year.

Construction of Phase One has included the building of the ramps on the eastern side of Route 220, adjacent to Central Pennsylvania Auto Auction. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is the contractor on the $3.4 million Phase One project. Phase Two of the project will build the bridge and ramps on the western side of Route 220, adjacent to the Clinton County Fairgrounds.

PennDOT reminds motorists to buckle up, obey posted speed limits and proceed with caution through all work zones.
