Wildfire On Card Creek Road in Roulette Township

Wildfire On Card Creek Road 

At 5:21 PM on Thursday, Roulette Fire Dept. dispatched to 145 Card Creek Road for a wildfire at the Skinner residence.

5:30 PM--REQUEST MANPOWER & UTILITY FROM COUDERSPORT

5:31 PM--UTILITY & MANPOWER FROM PORT ALLEGANY

5:40 PM--COUDERSPORT UNITS RECALLED 

5:49 PM--FIRE OUT 


4/17/14 - At approximately 5:21 pm Roulette Chemical Engine Company #1 was dispatched to the Card Creek Rd for a reported wildfire. Patrol 46-4 w/2 OIC-R.Sutherland responded at dispatch followed shortly by Engine 46-2 w/5 OIC - LT 46 (D.Lacher), Tanker 46-5 w/2, and Ambulance 46-7. Patrol 46-4 arrived with a large fire in an open field rapidly spreading. Upon hearing this information Lieutenant 46 requested McKean Station 3 (Star Hose Company #1) with a Utility and manpower. Patrol 46-4 then relayed information to Lieutenant 46 that the fire was inaccessible to the Engine. 

With this information Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for their UTV, Patrol, and manpower. Chief 48 (Phelps) who was in the area arrived on scene just ahead of Engine 46-2 and advised that there was approximately 3/4 acres burning in an open field. Engine 46-2 arrived with Lieutenant 46 assuming command and crew was sent up to assist Chief 48 and Patrol 46-4. Utility 34 and Chief 310 (Ernst) arrived shortly after and the fire was contained. 

Crews from Station 3, 46, and Chief 48 had the fire under control and enlarged the fire lines and extinguished hot spots. All Department 46 units were available approximately an hour after dispatch.
