Irvin V. Saler, Sr. 93, of Coudersport, PA died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Sweden Valley Manor.
WWII Vet

Born November 8, 1920, in Bridgeport, OH, he was the son of Victor and Mary Legon Saler. In Coudersport, June 1952, he married Anna E. Renko Saler, who preceded him in death May 6, 2001.

He served in the military during WW II,. Irvin worked for 19 years at Clark Brothers in Olean, NY, and later retired from Penn Dot after 8 years of service. He was a member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church, American Legion Potter Post 192, and the Slovene National Benefit Society.

He is survived by his son Irvin V. Saler, Jr. and his wife Kay of Coudersport. two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Irvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters; Mary Hoock, Stella Dougherty and Olga Swetland.

Irvins Life Celebration memorial Mass service will be held at St. Eulalia Catholic Church, Friday, May 23, 2014 with a receiving of friends from 1-2pm with Mass to follow, Rev, James Campbell officiating. Burial in St. Eulalia Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home, Ltd., “A Life Celebration Home”, 210 N. East St. Coudersport, PA 16915. Memorials may be made to St. Eulalia Catholic Church, 6 E. Maple St., Coudersport, PA 16915 or Charity of Choice.
