The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) and the Pennsylvania Wilds Planning Team (PWPT) announce the winners of their 2014 Mini-Grant Program.

The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) and the Pennsylvania Wilds Planning Team (PWPT) announce the winners of their 2014 Mini-Grant Program.

The Program allows for funding from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2), and the Environmental Stewardship Fund, to be used for local and regional projects that relate to the work of the Lumber Heritage Region and the Pennsylvania Wilds Planning Team. The funding requires a dollar for dollar match.

The Program received a total of 23 applications from 12 counties totaling $82,667. The Project Committee was able to award 16 projects totaling $61, 467 with match monies from other sources totaling $133,616 for a total of $195,083 total investment in the region.

Recipients include
• Jefferson County Historical Society for production of a documentary that highlights Brookville and Jefferson County during the Civil War.
• Tri-County Rails to Trails for an informational brochure and map of assets along the trail
• Muncy Historical Society and Museum of History for continued development of the Heritage Park and History Trail
• Youngsville Borough for a portion of the east bound welcome sign depicting historic Youngsville
• Forest Area Arts Council for phase II of the Tionesta Public Sculpture Project.
• Dubois Renaissance, Inc. for an interactive website that will promote the PA Wilds Design Guide
• Pennsylvania Lumber Museum Associates for interpretive signage in the recreated lumber camp
• McKean County for developing a county wide history trail
• Experience Inc. for development of interpretive signs along Warren’s pedal/pedestrian corridor
• Warren County Development Association for interpretive signage along the Rimrock Trail
• County of Clarion for the development of a trails map and brochures
• East Brady Borough for interpretive panels in the Riverfront Park
• Township of Washington for a phase II community sign in Fryburg and Marble communities
• Greater Renovo Area Heritage Park for the development of driving tour of the Civilian Conservation Corps Camps in the Lumber Heritage Region
• Punxsutawney Area Rails to Trails Association for the production of an informational brochure
• Potter County Education Council for production of a video celebrating partnerships in the Pennsylvania Wilds
