A Penn Township man has been arrested and charged with having indecent sexual contact with two teenage boys.

Charles Edward Cowart, 61, of 1570 Willoughby Circle, was charged on Friday by Northern Lancaster County Regional Police with inappropriately touching two boys at his Penn Township home and at a cabin in Potter County. The incidents took place over a five year period between 2009 and 2013. Both boys were ages 13 and 14 at the time the assaults began.

During a police interview on May 30, Cowart confessed to the crimes.

Cowart was arrested Friday at his residence and taken into custody without incident.

Cowart has been charged with indecent assault on a person less than 16 years of age, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with minor and criminal attempt - indecent on a person under 16 years of age.

He was arraigned before District Judge Edward Tobin and placed in Lancaster County Prison on $200,000 bail.

Stuff like this has been going on since man crawled out of the swamp (or the creation of man). You can try but you ain't gonna stop it.

But it has gotten worse since men's hearts have strayed so far from God. There is so much acceptance of evil in our country. Sexual immorality is rampant with the acceptance of gay life-styles, sex without marriage, and entertainment full of debauchery. I fear we cannot recover from our downward spiral.

You do realize that the people you mentioned above are nothing like a "pedophile" they are not the same. Honestly I would rather hang out with soomeone who is gay or a couple who lives together out of wed-lock (gasp) than the likes of people like you. The problem we face in the world today is ignorant people.

Agreed Saturday June 21 at 5:16 Problem today is ignorant, superstitious, hypocritical, bigoted, gullible, morons with superiority complexes. This guy prolly went to church every damn Sunday too. You think those who believe in god are beyond this? Points at the pedophile priests in the catholic church. And in every other church. Your god was so great and loving toward children he sent a angel to murder the first born of egypt. He asked a man to sacrifice his only son to prove his belief. He drowned how many in the great flood. 10,000 children marched on Alexandria in the name of god. (Known as the children's crusade) And were all killed or enslaved in the name of your god. How many young girls were burned at the stake in Salem for being witches? Or how about the almost 800 babies found in a well in Ireland at a old Catholic run home for unwed mothers? I could go on and on. But yep God is great and the people who believe in him are great too and you all love the little children ..... Not!

10:35AM - you forgot about allowing Obama being elected.

So I broke my nail today, clearly Obama's fault^^^^^^. Oh and gays, yeah peoples choice on which gender they love, yeah their opinion is Obama's fault. Ya know what I'm just going to blame the civil war on Obama, I always knew he started it. Or we could just refer to this post as informing you that this guy is disgusting and rape is a terrible thing. Poor kids will have to endure the effects of what a horrible, disgusting pervert has done. And yes, rape and molestation happens in our community, sadly. If we do inform and get the word out, it will protect and even give the courage for someone else to come toward if they are stuck in a situation such as this one.
