Port Allegany's Vincent (Chad) Barnard Has Created the Blue Card Series Filmes In Port Allegany & DuBois

Vincent (Chad) Barnard, a 2011 graduate of Port Allegany High School, graduated from the John Russo Movie Making program at Dubois Business College in March 2014. Vincent created a short 10-minute film, titled Blue Card, for one of his class projects, and received positive feedback and praise from the film program’s creator and instructors. Vincent was inspired to create a story around the initial Blue Card short film and developed a series of four more shorts, creating a web series of five episodes.

Blue Card tells the story of a young homeless man with a dark past named Cole, who is recruited into contract killing by a crime boss who writes the victims’ names on index cards. Cole’s guilty conscience soon sets in, causing him to question his life as a hit man.

The web series was primarily filmed in Port Allegany and Dubois and features actors and actresses from both towns as well. The full Blue Card series premiered at the Reitz Theater in Dubois, PA on May 24 in front of approximately 85 people, ending with a standing ovation and satisfied fans.

“Seeing the whole series completed on the big screen with an excited audience made all 6 months of hard work worth it,” said Barnard, who wrote, acted in and directed the series.

The full Blue Card web series is available for purchase at http://www.bluecardseries.com for $6 and has already been downloaded and enjoyed by people who did not get a chance to attend the premiere event in Dubois.

“After watching Episode 3 (Blue Card: Nature is Business) when it debuted I was drawn in and wanted to know more,” said Barry Bova, a resident of Bellevue, OH and 1979 graduate of Port Allegany High School. “The four new episodes did not disappoint. If you like good character-based action I recommend the Blue Card Series. Fantastic.”

Vincent(Chad) did an amazing job. I was honored and privileged to be able to be part of this web series. Chad is one of few kids that I know of that has followed his dreams and now his dream is becoming reality. I highly recommend people to watch this film and support a local resident.
