Techsploration Graduates 18 Students

Techsploration Graduation

The Potter County Education Council in partnership with the Seneca Highlands IU9 and Seneca Highlands Career & Technical Center recognized 18 students for participating in this year's Techsploration program.

The goal of Techsploration is to introduce area youth to a wide variety of careers that they may not be aware of. Traditionally, youth only learn about the careers that they see every day whether through a family member, favorite teacher, health care professional, or on Television.

This program helps them explore other careers to identify what interest them, and just as importantly what they are not interested in.

This year's careers included: Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Metalworking Occupations, Networking, and Sustainable Energy. They learned about the job market, required education and educational opportunities, and got to perform hands-on projects to see what type of work is done in each of these fields.

The Education Council would also like to thank UGI for sponsoring this program. UGI has made a commitment to invest in the communities they serve and made a generous contribution to the Education Council through the PA EITC program.

UGI's generous contribution allowed us to offer this program free of charge. This program would not have been possible without UGI's strong support. Lisa Ninotti, Community Relations Manager for UGI was presented with a plaque thanking UGI for their support and generous contribution.
